Yeah, I found the engine via the web. But I need photos from people who have actually taken photos, and can give permission. One does not publish a book with photos in it of Internet 72 dpi resolution. Tacky, very tacky.

And yes it is just a cosmetic restoration. On the other hand the look of the engine now is not too terribly far off from how it would have looked 140 years ago. Except for the woodburning stack, appliances etc. It is amazing the subsequent owners didn't fix some of the older things, like the slanted cylinders.
The General for instance had significant modifications done to her, but everyone thinks the way she is now is how she looked then.
