For what it's worth, in 1954 Beebe and Clegg acquired a sucessor to the "Gold Coast". This car was an Pullman-built (1928) heavyweight observation-lounge, "Golden Peak".
They renamed it "Virginia City", and spent a small fortune on a one-of-a-kind Venetian Renaissance interior (complete with a working marble fireplace in the observation-lounge). It has three double bedrooms, a shower and an ornate dining section. The "Virginia City" is undoubtedly the most opulent PV on the American railroad network today, and its current owner - Virginia City Rail Corp. of Redwood City, CA - makes it available for private charters on Amtrak.
