If you or any one else is thinking of visiting this is the time to go. The Mewuk Indians have plans to develop the entire mill site area into a golf course in the very near future. The area is not accessible at this point as at least one of the shop buildings have collapsed. I was hoping we might all get one last peek during the Westside Logging Meet in April but I don't see any mention of this on the linked website. There was a petition to try and save some parts but at this point I don't know where this stands....
Art Kuppi is leading a hiking tour along part of the Westside ROW on Sunday April 22nd and the Tuolumne museum will have special open hours on Saturday night April 21st for convention attendees. There are clinics, movies, model manufacturers and layout tours as well.
