Thanks for the map-update on the long gone but magnificent UV&P. I too have driven some of the route starting at Jerome. Your map is accurate where MISTER GEORGE W. HILTON'S (AUTHOR OF MY NG BIBLE-- AMERICAN NARROW GAUGE RAILROADS). On page 315 he mapped the UV&P heading south west out of Jerome where, in reality, it went northwest then north, navigating the hills to reach the Chino Valley to the west. When I drove the route I also found the Y and the footings of the last UV&P station (north of the latest open pit mine that displaced that RR's original Jerome depot). I was also recall the steep grades and twisting turns. I still can't figure out how those engines were able to pull ladened ore cars up and around those ectreme grades? Thanks again.
