I picked up a slightly used copy of the movie on VHS for $1 a couple of years ago when a local video rental store closed shop.
BTW, anyone here remember when the movie "Tough Guys" starring Lancaster and Kirk Douglas (and SP 4449) came out? One of the rail mags made some comment to the effect that neither Lancaster nor Douglas knew anything about steam, so a real train crew had to be used for all operation of the steamer. Luckily some reader pointed out that in "the Train", Lancaster had not only operated steam, but operated FRENCH steam, known for its complexity. Oh yea, he also poured a new babbit rod bearing for the engine that the old engineer sabotaged. I don't think he'd have had much trouble running 4449.
I wonder if any modern-day actors would have a clue what to do on a movie set like that?
