Re: Stone Building

According to a note on a page of photos from SVRR's Emlaw Col. the stone bld was built about 1890 as a company store for OLC/SVRy. It was attatched to a 2 story brick bld. built about 1917. As Steve says the two buildings comlex became the general offices of OLC,SVRy and Mt. Hood. At some point the general offices of OLC were moved from Ogden to S Baker. They were the general offices for OLC operations at Dee and elswhere. I have talked to the son of an OLC employee from Dee and he said payroll checks came from S Baker. I believe these buildings were torn down in the 1970's. SVCartoad may know for sure as Laura Hayse has mentioned rescuing some things out of the building before it was demolished.
The building was located just to the N of the roundhouse with the SVRy main running between the two. I could post a map this evening if someone would like.
