Lets not dwell on the FRA and the EBT as the present status will not change if and when the narrow gauge operated into Mt. Union on the same track used my Mt. Union Connecting RR. The FRA is in conversation with EBT on many functions as if they have extended jurisdiction over the ng lines. The Shade Gap RR (RR of Yesterday) operates a SG trolley on the EBT right of way but that is exempt from FRA interest even though they cross a public highway 20 times more a day than the steam trains. It is a very long story of how the status of things got to where they are so we won't go there again.
Things are fine the way they are, and the EBT track was improved extensively last year and more work is in the planning for 2007. Best news to spread is that Stanley Hall is recovering well from tripple bi-pass and has been visiting the office daily for short business sessions.
Rumor is that official permission has been given to FEBT crews to continue cutting the right of way south as far as they want to go for track car operations. They can cross the highway and work into the cut under Jordan overpass. The FEBT might also cut from the Clay Spur wye north to Shirleysburg siding for the M-3 operation.
Operation is conducted by timetable and train orders with very skilled employees.
Come and visit as when the reunion and special event day occure, several types of track cars give you a great ride over some very rare ng mileage. The extra revenue is surely needed.
