That's a great shot I have never seen before. Thanks, Bret. The poles are tough to make out. Are those crossarm braces or a bracket pair catching the light on the close pole ? I do not see arms against the snow on the far poles. Any other shots to verify ?
From conversations and reading, I understand the stretch of SVRy beyond Bates, and certainly past Dixie did not have much activity on it. OLC took off from Bates and left the mainline. Prairie City was just a destination at the end of the line. An a wrong on this ? If this was the case, maybe a single pair lead to the depot at Prairie was all that was needed beyond Bates ? Although I thought I read somewhere that the SV phone company became a common carrier between Baker and Prairie and beyond. Anyone know hard details ?
