The Seward Peninsula RR engines still at Solomon are three of the four "surviving" 0-4-4T Forney engines from the Manhattan Elevated RR. When the EL switched to electric power, the Forneys were bought up by logging and other operations, and scattered about the country.
The remains of the fourth engine are on the shore of Lake Verret off State Highway 1 north of Morgan City; Louisiana. It last worked for Napoleon Cypress Co.; my understanding is that it was wrecked; and apparently partly scrapped on the spot. The other cylinder did not disappear until fairly recently.
