Bad Brass

Guys,
After reading all of the posts about the "Hall of Shame", I have a couple of questions for you.
I oun a Westside RGS 455 post wreck. It has a micro motor with a gearhead and is one of the best running engins I own. How off is the cab?
What are the correct dimensions for the cab?
I also own a Balboa C&S #74. Does it carry the same wrong dimensions as the Westside loco?
How would one go about correcting it to the right scale dimensions and making it right?
I have been working on a Key RGS #42 for several weeks now trying to make it right.Had to scratch build to many parts to list just for the tender alone. Tons of work left to do on the engine also. Does anyone have a good set of plans for this loco that are correct?
Thanks for the input,
