Dan your memories of growning up in Seneca are great to hear about! I seemed to remember an Oregonian newspaper article a few years back refering to Kinzua as the last Ore. company town, it now being gone I guess. As you say there may be something in Western Ore. that remains that at least began as a company owned town. Valsetz was a good example of a company town in which all, the houses, store, streets, you name it, including the rr that served it was owned by the company. Wasn't Hines outside of Burns also a company owned town? In N.E Ore. the examples that come to mind besides what has been mentioned are Pondosa, Perry, White Pine, Austin for the most part, Curry, Maxville, Vincent On Top also known as Palmer Lbr. Camp 5, and to a lesser extent a town short lived E.O.Lbr Camp 10 which even had a theatre none the less. I bet there are a few more.
This photo probably needs some editing, but it was taken about 1934 looking across the SVRy tracks at the Bates mill, from my col.
