Here's a more typical scene shot about the same day in 1967 as the original photo I posted from the coal tower. This shows the 497, 498, and a yet unidentified K-36 waiting for the next thing to happen. There's always a lot of waiting and the patient photographer can get some good pictures with the wait, and the absence of spectators. The employees are the preferred people to be in my pictures, and I often wait until the right person wanders into the scene. Pictures of trains without the operating personnel, where practical, seem sterile to me.
