Well some folks like anything that runs on the rails. On the other hand some of us have standards and don't just settle for anything that rolls or smokes! Like I said some places are just another tourist pike, and thats fine, but its not all that historic, which is a loose term anyway.
I have not been to EBT since about 1960 something, so I can't say that its one thing or the other first hand! I have been to the Colorado Lines, and the Georgetown Loop sprung up from old roadbed, so in my mind it should be more than just a train ride, otherwise why bother puting THOSE TRACKS in, and just build some in a more accessible location to draw tourists if thats your goal.
If I wanted to just make money, I would make my railroad based on different factors than making it just historical in nature!!! EBT is at least trying to preserve the history and fabric of the trains and property which is commendable. Remember their hands are somewhat tied by ownership, etc. Every place has its own headaches and constraints of operation unless its self-owned, like the D&S or the Grand Canyon which is private enterprise. I know EBT is also, but not quite in the same way, and no I don't want to debate that.

PS. Whats your point Mik? You want multi-colored
choo-choos to bring in more business or what??? If so they can build diesels or something space-aged to attract the Disney crowd I suppose.
