According to the Durango Herald, the sheep were transported in a D&SNG boxcar.
The Herald also reported that the steam engine scheduled for the move, derailed in the vicinity of the station, exact location not disclosed, due to ice & snow. After a delay, the boxcar was moved to Cascade Wye by a MOW vehicle.
Due to the unexpected delays, the regular Cascade passenger train was held at the Wye, enabling the passengers to view the sheep being unloaded.
