Hoss: I second, the reccomendation of John Craft on the Canon G7. I have been a professional photographer almost all of my life, and Canon is where it is at in todays world. Even the old standy, Nikon, is falling back in the pack.
The G7 also has a buit in image stabilizer which will take most of the shake out of the taking of the picture.
I made the switch years ago from Nikon to Canon, and never looked back. Your dollars are better spent investing in Canon.
