Yep, this is the one I saw a photo of in one of the books. Shows a brakeman hanging on the pole making the connections with the portable "Y" shaped pole. It was in the snow at, I believe, Ophir in the late 40's. From what you are showing it would seem that the surplus field phones replaced older units like the one shown from Goose 5 but probably used the Western Union Line Poles as shown in the illustration.
