No matter what your feelings are about the smoke issue in Durango, I'd recommend downloading the report. At least for me, there was a lot of very interesting information about locomotive design and operation, including some plots of performance on the run to Silverton. These were in the long version of the report. Some of the old hands here probably don't need to read up on that, but for those of us who only stand by and watch, I found it fascinating.
