First Train... *LINK* *PIC*

Also of import yesterday was the first official train over the new Austin Street crossing in Sumpter. The preliminary approval has been completed on the project, and the crossing went into service on Saturday morning. There is still some tweaking and such to be done, as well as a few more installations before the track is fully approved, but trains should be at the depot for the 2007 season. Many, many people have been involved with Austin Street, and it is nice to see the efforts finally coming to fruition.
Thanks, Taylor Rush, SVRR
The picture below shows the Engineer for a Day freight train sitting across Austin Street. The Sumpter depot can just be seen on the right.
