Looking at Carlos' photos and I just realized that the DS-500 has moved. I was there about 7 years ago and it was parked next to the open warehouse, closer to the road than in Carlos' photos. Does this thing actually still run or did someone tow it back?
I've got a bunch of photos I took that day, including some of the pack of feral dogs that came out to greet me. I must have looked pretty funny taking pix with one hand while swinging a 2X4 with the other while they tried to bite me. Didn't hit any of them, but it scared them off pretty well.
Anyone know what the current ownership/status of that little operation is? They certainly aren't in service. I talked with some guys in Golden about saving the DS 500 and no one seemed interested. Pretty unique engine. Over 50 years old at this point, IIRC.
