A truly fine restoration, turning the "remains" of a caboose, stuffed and mounted, into a piece of operable equipment. What a great feeling it must be to those who spent the years in-on-and-under the caboose to now be able to ride it, and enjoy the miles of 3-ft railroad rolling out from beneath the end platform!
I recall seeing the "remains" at the entrance at Antonito. I wasn't even sure that it was a "real" caboose. Wonderful that it now has the best possible home, back on the track where it belongs.
And make no appologies for the webpage! It is perfect coverage of the project, start-to-finish, with just enough photos and info to tell the tale to someone (like me) looking at it from an outsider's perspective. Nice that each year shows a picture of the volunteers and lists the names.
I hope to ride in the 0579 someday. Congrat's again!
