On Wed Art Gibson and his mother made a visit to us here in Silver Plume. What makes this visit special is that they came to visit C&S Coach 76, now inside the car shed. Back in 1937 Art's Mom & Dad took him (Art was 9 months old) to ride on Train No.71, 10 days before the end! Art's dad took a photo of his wife and son sitting in coach 76 looking out the window. On Wed Art and his beautiful mother recreated the photo. (pictures to soon follow) Art's dad was quite the C&S NG fan, he took the family to the Chicago Railroad Fair and they all road behind NO.9 again AND rode inside coach 76!
I am grateful to have met these folks and share thier memories.....WHAT A THRILL!!! We are planning on constructing tracks into the car shed for next season....we hope next year Art and his mom can come take a ride in coach 76 and behind No.9...again!.....ya gotta love this buisness.
