Either way, its all yours, or anyone, to find and get the credit for the discovery. I have never been up there and can only question from the facts in old records.
I love your photos and think it sure looks like old ties on a grade, but I would guess that if the line went up to the first old mine and then abandoned and cut back, they would salvage every and all ties as they would not have time to rot.
Unless they used bad wood to build the first line and then left some back up there, it should be clear. When they built the loop in 1906, they would have needed more ties, but could have cut them for free in the area.
The question is still open to what that grade is on the aerials. Sure fun to explore this where all can see what anyone can come up with to answer the puzzle.
