Greg,
That she has. On our last run of the day (upgrade portion of the trip is around 4:30pm) yesterday, Sunday 8-20, we had rain for most of the run. Rails were wet starting out from "the hole" under the High Bridge. 9 slipped a bit starting up, but held the rails until she hit the Pin Truss bridge, just upgrade from the rock cut. She lost her footing pretty good, caught, and then slipped again. The engineer did a good job of stopping the spin, catching the second before it could develop fully, and then slowly worked her back to track speed. She sounded great going around High Fill Curve, especially on the upper portion, with her exhaust sharp and pronounced, straining against the resistance of the train on the curve and the steep grade. I was standing directly behind her, and she put on an impressive show. One of those times when I remember why I love my job........
Moral of the story is that she has been tested on wet rail, and performed admirably.
