Wayne: While the PS&N is pretty straight near Gillen Station (our location), the SM&SW looks like is was surveyed by following a drunken cow with all of the curves. They had so many wrecks on the line that when PS&N took over the SM&SW, they had to straighten out the line in our area by cutting and filling. We continue to find all kinds of small frieght car parts, OTM and small chunks of rail in the area along the SM&SW grade. Of course, the curves were only an issue for standard gage, not our 2 foot gage.
