ive always been of the opinion that if they wold have bought more power they probly wold have bought substantial 2-6-6-2 compounds possibly simple engins, because that wold have probly max out the abilitys of the surrounding phisical plant, as heavy as cold be put on existing bridges, as powerfull as the drawbars and draftgear of the older wood rolling stok, could handle and be short enough that they woldent need to renginer and realine any curves. but by the time this could of happend (pipe boom) the grande was, 1 unwilling to do anything but abandon it 3foot lines, and 2 if it had had a white pass attitude tward survival would have containerised and desilised.
