OK, I've got another Chama Roundhouse question: The [brick] roundhouse started out w/ 9 stalls, was reduced to 5, then to todays 2. I've seen photos of the 5 stall house, but W/O the TURNTABLE. Did the turntable come out at the same time the 1st 4 stalls were removed? That is: anyone have a photo of the 5 stall hse WITH the turntable? By the way, I agree the big K's would indeed fit in the roundhouse [just] but they'd hardly have matched up w/ the old smokejacks or left any room to get around them! But in Richard Lind's "Narrow Gauge Country" there's a photo of 483 taken from inside the house- there is what appears to be a smokejack in the ceiling near the doors [as built, they were at the other end]. This would allow a K to back in, with her tender in the machine shop, and close the doors. Can anyone confirm this? SR
