I thought of that later also...You are probably right! A million doesn't go far today when it comes to buying railroads, and getting equipment running.
To compare values....I spoke to the owner of a golf course yesterday where I played, and he mentioned that another course nearby where I played sold for 3 million dollars. The one this new owner bought 8 months ago went for 1.5 million, on about 120 acres.
So, 1 million wouldn't even buy this golf course which is in the boondocks(about 35 miles east of Cincinnati). Thats why they have deals like play all day for $22.00 for us old guys, including the drive cart!!!
