The Conductor on the 1st train should have been the one in charge. His train picked up additional cars & the schedule for train #2 did not depart Silverton per operating rules. No engine, no train, or locomotive #482 ran back to Durango on the timetable schedule for 2nd train, & the Conductor was with the locomotive ???
