When Todd and a few others including myself were involved with the cosmetic restoration of #74 back in the 80's, we carefully traced the tender lettering from #71, which had been carefully and painstakingly sanded clear by Rick Steele for use on #74.
If this was made from our original tracing from #71, Rick Steele gets a lot of credit as well.
There were still traces of #74's C&S lettering visible on the tank in those days, but it was really hard to make out under the RGS logo, which looked like it had been painted on with a broom.
I do hope somebody was able to trace that RGS logo before it was stripped off. There was something unique about it that made it one of a kind from others.
