Silverton is the only county seat in Colorado that has been left out of the state sponsored and paid for fiber optic network--there is some activity locally to get Qwest to honor their contract with the state that specified that each county seat would be tied into Denver. We have fairly good service anyway--I'm on a wireless system that serves the town.
