Re: So how is the C&TS doing so far

Rode the new SL&RG sg train from Alamosa to Antonito last Wednesday (5/31). Only two of us rode to Antonito and only two others got on there to ride back.
C&TS train to Osier and return was at least 75% full. There was one extra coach. Parlor car was full.
There were two helpful docents from the Friends aboard.
Ticketing appears to be the major hurdle to overcome. Lots of SNAFUS were unfolding as I waited in line at Antonito. The ticket itself is anything but a keepsake.
We had No. 488 westbound and No. 487 eastbound.
Food is much better at Osier than I recall from my last trip in 1997.
Snow is sparse in the mountains this year for June.
P.S. Also rode the sg SL&RG train from Alamosa to La Veta on 5/30. Enjoyed it as well!
