...Cargo told the crowd the C&TSRR is responsible for bringing $45 million per year into the San Luis Valley. He said the railroad’s jobs and income were desperately needed here.
Entz informed everyone that Colorado has budgeted $2.11 million for the C&TSRR. Track maintenance will receive $1.35 million, the Antonito shop will get $250,000 and $510,000 will go to operations. He also told the audience Colorado has earmarked $510,000 of it annual budget for the railroad as money to be continually a part of the state’s yearly expenditures.
