At the end of their active service and as currently displayed both locomotives had 11" air pumps with out cooling fins. Prior to about 1950 they were equipped with 9 1/2" pumps with cooling fins. The lower or finned portion is the air compressor cylinder the upper laged portion is the steam cylinder.
