The caboose is owned by the San Juan County Historical Society in Silverton. It is in Durango awaiting funding from the State Historical Fund with the work to be performed by the D&S. It will then return to Silverton for display. It did serve for a number of years as the information booth for the chamber of commerce in Silverton in at least a couple of locations, and for many years sat in back of the Western Colorado Power Co. office building NE of Silverton where it served as a paint shed.
