At this point in time, I am not planning on bringing Eureka to Durango, or anywhere else, except the Nevada State Railroad Museum in Carson City. I expect to take Eureka there this coming July 4th weekend mostly for exhibition. The waiver petition is still pending with the FRA. Until that is resolved I'll only operate under my Nevada certificate, if at all, here in Nevada on an insular track. In any event, for the last several months my father has had some serious health issues and I do not want to be away from home for long periods.
I hope the guys with the 315 get that engine going in time for Railfest. Maybe someday we will get all these historic narrow gauge locomotives in one place and have a helluva Railfest. In my mind's eye I envision Eureka, 315, Glenbrook, Joe Douglas, Seward, Hawaii #5, a D&S amd C&TS engine, and others, all together for a fabulous narrow gauge convention. Any ideas who might have a NG locomotive that would be interested?
