I really don't know much about the depot except that I believe that it is owned by the City of Antonito AND there was some talk about the "Friends" doing some work on it. I've heard nothing for quite awhile though. I have some pretty good pictures of it in its current state that I took last September.
Since I first became interested in the C&T I've thought that finding a good use for it, upgrading the area in the triangle of the wye and the area from there to the C&T present depot would constitute a nice boost to the railroad as well as the town of Antonito which could certainly use the help.
Presonally, I think it would mnake a great Narrow Gauge Railroad Museum although everything I hear points to a museum being built in Chama.
I even threw together a very crude sketch of some improvements that I think could be make in that area. I'll not post them but anybody who would like a copy of my idea in .pdf form is welcome to email me and I'll send it as an attachment to a regular email.
