Yes, that is indeed a Heisler you saw parked behind the #6. That picture, of course, was taken in the yards of the Whitewater Valley Scenic Railway in Connersville, Indiana. I dont know where that loco came from originally, but it was used on the Maggie Valley Railroad in North Carolina. It was briefly stored at Bear Creek Junction on the Graham County Railroad in the mid seventies where I photographed it and and a larger sister. Both engines were moved to Connersville to initially set up the railroad. Being too slow, they were eventually replaced by the EBT #6 and later the 2-6-2 #100. I believe the larger Heisler(#2) is now at Freeport Illinois where it is now in service. The smaller Heisler (#3), which you see in the photograph, is still at Connersville. It is reportedly privitely owned.
Just a note, it is supposidly the smallest standard gauge Heisler in existance and would not take too much to make it operable.
