I don't think that is the stockyard, I agree with Fergy.
I also believe it to be the track where freight was transferred between standard and narrow gauge boxcars, which were spotted with the doors opposite each other. Freight was loaded across plates or boards that were used for that purpose.
I have heard how this was done, but never have seen a picture of it. It was located near the depot, sort of adjacent to the freight depot. I wish I had taken more photos in the late 60's.
The stockyard was South of town, these are all boxcars in view.
