Hi Rick, the reason you see roll roofing is that is all the commission could afford. Two summers ago you will see work session B photos of Friends members patching the roll roofing. It was hoped at the time that they would spring for all new roofing, but as you see, that didn't happen.
There is a company in Canada that makes roofing that is very close to what you see in the picture, but it is VERY expensive, and they will not sell it to the U.S. market. We would have to buy it in Canada and bring it in ourselves. A LOT of money and trouble for about 36 squares, so roll roofing will have to do for now.
