Thanks Martin,
Great to see the photo and interest in the line as you could almost call it a Colorado NG. It was owned by George P. Laws (1853-5/23/1937)who lived in Denver, and was the operator of the Sawmill that was 3.16 miles south of Chama, NM in early years. A Superintendent of Pagosa Lbr Co. at Dulce in 1925 went to FR when PLCo. closed.
Most interesting about FRLCo. was it receipt of Uintah Shay #3054 in May 1927, but sent it back to Uintah Feb. 1930. Then it received the same Shay again in Feb. 1934, per LIMA service dept. records.
In the 1930s it had 20 miles of ng railroad and once rebuilt it main line out of the valley to cut its grade in half.
Did Western Railroader ever do a article on this company? I don't think it has ever been in a railfan press. Do you have a photo of #3054 FRL #3 (second) which was scrapped in 3/1943?
