I found some information that suggests that the copper mine was privatized several years ago and that there was a substantial enviromental cleanup of the site about 1999. I don't have any information to prove one way or another, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was scrapped or sold at that time. If not, it certainly would be in danger still due to the climbing value of scrap. Of course, it could also still be sitting just where I saw it 22+ years ago.
