There wasn't enough room to make a good 'photo line'. People were even climbing up on top of the stock cars there at the siding. I decided that I would cross over to the west side of the track and got down low. As the train came by I was panning back and burning film as fast as my Cannon would go. The picture before that one isn't bad and the one after is mostly running gear. While the shutter was open I was still panning back during the last three or four shots of the runby.
The engine was close enough when it went by I got a puff of steam on the back of my arm when she went by. Looking back it wasn't the best of locations (AKA don't try this at home). It was just a little too close to the rails.
I won an award at my local NMRA show with that one and I will be entering it at the LSR Regional show next June.
Thanks again,
Duane
