Hi Jim!
I,(along with many others I'm sure) am enjoying the posts of train operations through Cumbres back in the early '30's. It's fun to "follow the action" and track the movements of specific pieces of equipment.
The entry for this date, Mar 17 1932, is especially interesting. I see that 492 arrived as an extra west from Antonito, and left at......? It must be still there! Maybe someone should go up there and kick the weeds around a bit - they might find a ghost train sitting there with 492 at the head end, the crew waiting for orders!
Seriously, what happened to extra west 492 on this date?
George
