WEST SIDE LUMBER 7-5-1960

By diverting the family’s west coast trip, I got to see the West Side Lumber Co. mill yard at Tuolumne, CA but on holiday July 5, 1960.
Shay #8 and #9 were in the shop building and hot
Shay #10 was steaming out side the shop
Shay #15, #7 and #12 were in a storage line near the shop out of service
Heisler #3 was switching the sg section of the mill and took water on the SRR
Heisler #2 (2-Truck) was on display.
Shay #14 might have been in the woods.
The yard office (or dispatcher’s office) had an outdoor chalk board with the mark-up as follows:
Call for Duty: 7/6/1960 1:00 AM Engine #8
Call for Duty: 7/6/1960 3:30 AM Engine #10
As you can gather the family did not cater to leaving the motel in time to visit the yard when a train was in action. Close but my day was a wrong arrival.
