Hi, All -
The San Luis Obispo RR Museum will again be hosting an open house at the Santa Margarita RR the first weekend in May. The RR is about two miles of 3' gauge, with a couple of oil-burning steamers, and last year was a real hoot. Phil Reader, formerly of The Loop, is CMO ...
They are expecting three or four times as many visitors this year as last - several thousand, at least. Is there any interest in having a booth there for The Friends to pass out literature, recruit members, and/or sell stuff (like the new "Narrow Gauge over Cumbres" screen saver for the #483 benefit)?
I will be there helping out with operations as a brakeman / car attendant, and can probably brake loose (no pun intended) for a couple of hours each day to help out with a booth. I can also HELP with set-up and arrangements IF someone with some experience is in charge and can manage to get the supplies lined up and shipped, etc., etc.
