I don't know what color it was, however I found the AFE for conversion to #025 at the Colorado Railroad museum and while I didn't copy the price I remember it as only being about $7-8 so would guess it stayed green and all they did was paint out the old number and paint on the new number.
20 was being stored boarded up in Golden.
