When my wife, Carmen, worked for the Gas Co. of NM in Chama. her boss worked in Farmington that fateful day. He was called to the depot with a report of a gas leak. When he arrived the smell of gas was over powering. He couldn't even get close to the building to turn off the meter. As he was searching for the shut off for the local gas main, it went up with a large KABOOM and an orange fireball.
There wasn't enough left of the depot to warrant bulldozing. It simply vanished into kindling wood.
