Fred,
The CB&Q engine that was painted gold in the early 60's for the 100 year celebration was one of the 4-8-4's, 5623, I believe.
As I recall, 473 was painted in the "Grande Gold" for a short time in the mid-50's. Of course, 268 was painted in the "Bumblebee" scheme for the Railroad fair and kept it until retirement.
