I was interested to see Caboose 04990 come up with the Rotary Outfit.
This is the odd caboose now in Boulder, that has a peaked roof on the body, and a rounded roof on the cupola.
I believe it was built from a boxcar in about 1918, and ended up on a farm somewhere in the San Luis Valley, until it was found, bought and moved to be put on display in Boulder. I don't recall that there was any evidence this caboose ever had a flying herald applied. The lettering was so thick, that we handpainted the impressions right over a new coat of paint without need for stencils.
