PESL- I think you have the standards of proof backwards. It it up to YOU and anyone else who promotes this theory to provide the SOLID evidence that the Santa Fe branch was used by the Govt. after the supposed scrapping date.
I think the late Carl Sagan said it best: "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence". Any new theory MUST be supported by the evidence. Second hand stories, hearsay, and information from "intelligence sources" are not reliable pieces of evidence and that is all this theory has at present. The above postings are very useful in highlighting the fact that this theory is highly suspect and fraught with problems. It will now be up to you or anyone else who wants to advance this theory to provide some hard corroboration that it did occur. I would think that being a long time researcher you would know this...
